After seven years of legal disputes and courtroom battles, the beneficiaries of Karl Lagerfeld’s estate—worth more than £250 million—have finally been revealed.
The largest share of the legendary fashion designer’s fortune went to French model Baptiste Giabiconi, whom Lagerfeld often described as his adopted son. His former personal bodyguard was also among the beneficiaries.
Meanwhile, the housekeeper who cares for the famous cat Choupette admitted that she received nothing from the estate, despite hiring high-profile lawyers to protect her interests. However, during his lifetime, Lagerfeld gifted her a house near Paris and £1 million for personal expenses.
As for Choupette, there is little reason to worry about her future. The celebrity cat continues to earn money as a model and brand ambassador. One advertising campaign with Maisons du Monde alone reportedly brought in around £100,000.
So it seems Choupette can easily afford her favorite rabbit-flavored cat food!
