A 26-year-old woman has been detained in the Polish city of Legnica on suspicion of attacking two 13-year-old girls from Ukraine. She faces up to seven and a half years in prison.
The incident occurred near a swimming pool on Poliarna Street. According to RMF24, the woman initially reprimanded the children for speaking Ukrainian. She later allegedly hit one of the girls, another child, and a boy who attempted to defend them.
Police identified the suspect using CCTV footage, eyewitness testimony, and other evidence collected during the investigation.
The 26-year-old woman has been charged with causing bodily harm and coercing another person through violence or an unlawful threat. Investigators believe the offence was hooligan-motivated.
The suspect has been placed under police supervision. She has also been banned from approaching the victims and the playground near which the incident took place.
