On May 21, the solemn ceremony of the All-Ukrainian Woman of the Third Millennium Award took place, honoring Ukrainian women whose achievements, professionalism and civic stance are shaping modern Ukraine.
Founded by Lidia Lisimova, the award has for many years recognized women who have distinguished themselves in various spheres of the country’s life. According to the founder, the award is often seen as a kind of Ukrainian women’s “Oscar”.
This year, thirty Ukrainian women received the award. Among the honorees were successful representatives of business, science, education, medicine and culture, as well as well-known volunteers, military medics, servicewomen, actresses, singers and other Ukrainian women whose work, talent and resilience deserve special recognition.
Symbolically, the ceremony was held on Vyshyvanka Day. The traditional national clothing worn by guests and participants added a special atmosphere to the evening and emphasized the connection between the event and Ukrainian tradition, unity and resilience.
Amid the full-scale war, Ukrainian women save lives, support the army, develop businesses, teach children, treat the wounded, volunteer, serve in the military and take responsibility where it is needed most. These are the stories of strength, dignity and leadership brought together by the Woman of the Third Millennium Award.
During the ceremony, guests enjoyed performances by renowned Ukrainian artists. The stage featured Tetiana Piskariova, Olha Sumska and Vitalii Borysiuk, young singer Yara, Iryna Sheheda, Arthur Bosso, Natalia Shelepnytska, Lesia Korolyk, Taras Petrynenko, Ivo Bobul, the Anna-Maria duo and Tetiana Horobets.
The Woman of the Third Millennium Award once again reminded everyone that Ukrainian women are a powerful force for change, a pillar of society and an essential part of Ukraine’s future.
