Emotional footage has emerged following the 77th prisoner exchange, showing the first moments of Ukrainian defenders back on home soil. The servicemen released from Russian captivity could not hold back their emotions as they called their loved ones for the first time in a long while.
One of the freed soldiers admitted that he still could not believe he was finally home.
“It feels like a dream. I still can’t believe it…” the serviceman said.
Other Ukrainian defenders, speaking about what they endured in Russian captivity, said it was a place where “it is better for no one to ever end up.”
The footage shows the released servicemen calling their families, embracing one another and wiping away tears. Their first moments of freedom were accompanied by cries of “Glory to the Heroes!”
