U.S. President Donald Trump stated that, in his view, Cuba is currently a “failed state” facing serious challenges, including a shortage of aviation fuel.
According to him, the United States is engaged in negotiations with Cuba. The talks are reportedly being handled by Marco Rubio. Trump emphasized that Cuba “absolutely needs to make a deal,” describing the situation as a humanitarian threat.
Reporter’s question:
If a deal is not reached, would you consider conducting an operation in Cuba similar to what happened in Venezuela?
Trump’s response:
“I don’t want to answer that question. Why would I answer that question? If I were going to do it, it wouldn’t be a very difficult operation, as you can imagine, but I don’t think it will be necessary.”
