The premiere of the IVASHYN LIVE project features a candid conversation with veteran Denys Skaleukh about his frontline experience, injury, rehabilitation, and the unvarnished reality of war.
A new video project, IVASHYN LIVE, hosted by Ukrainian war veteran and coordinator of the Civil-Military Movement Oleksii Ivashyn, has released its first episode. The format is built on sincere conversations with those who have just returned from the front lines: soldiers, medics, and volunteers. The project promises no gloss or filters — only the truth about the war and the people who live through it.
The first episode features veteran Denys Skaleukh, an adviser to the head of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk region on veteran affairs. He fought in Bakhmut and Zaporizhzhia, survived deadly situations, lost a leg, and managed to return to full life with a prosthesis. In the episode, he talks about his journey — from his first battle to the long and difficult rehabilitation process.
Skaleukh speaks openly about fear and courage on the battlefield, brotherhood among soldiers, moral challenges, the everyday life of frontline territories, and the experiences of civilians living under occupation. His words, “I still dream of how we storm and hold the defense,” capture the emotional state of many Ukrainian servicemen returning from the war’s hottest directions.
IVASHYN LIVE positions itself as a space for sincerity and truth, revealing stories often left behind official reports and daily news.
